Dunno about the rest of the world but I think for British people, going to New York is a pretty big deal. Maybe it’s all the movies with it in. So my dad and I are pretty excited to go and I got my monies changed to American dollars, which by the way are the most dull notes I’ve ever seen, sorry but they’re nothing compared to the Euro’s funky notes.
I leave here at 6:30 to go to the airport and fly to Heathrow around about 9:30, where we’ll transit over to JFK. Zach, Rob and Brian arrive a few hours after us, so we’ll go to our shoddy hotel, drop our stuff off and meet up with some machinima peeps afterwards (I think, or we’ll just hang at a pizza restaurant till the others arrive).
Personally I thought New York was disappointing - once you get over the size of the place it’s a ton of overpriced stores and a lot of miserable assholes. But then I’m not one for museums, fine dining, and overpriced bars so I guess it’s more me being picky than anything. Although I found it hilarious when we stopped for lunch in a place called the Midwestern Bar and Grill - being from the Midwest, I figured I’d see what their take on it was. Turns out it was a bunch of mannequins in Farmer Brown outfits with some bad Norman Rockwell imitation paintings all over the walls, with twenty five dollar burgers that tasted like ground shit. “Midwestern Bar and Grill? You mean I came 3000 miles for authentic midwest meals when I could have just gone down the street to Chili’s for better food at half the price?”
Anyways, I digress. I bet it’ll be a blast with everyone there. And the festival too.

Anyways, have fun you guys. It’s kind of a big deal here for us in the states as well, well for those of us that aren’t really in large cities. Everyone I know that went to New York just went there for the shopping, but other than that, it’s a city.

Personally I don’t care to have “pretty money” it makes no difference to me. Yet I do know that the designs and cloth used are to make it more difficult to make counterfeit bills.
