As is the case when anyone puts ANYTHING on the internet these days, we’ve already got some people stealing/trying to steal or sharing our music. Please Lay off it. Don’t try to exploit our system, don’t try to get the music from your buddies, or the latest torrent sites or whatever. We work hard to create this stuff and we’ve worked equally hard getting this music store set up. I know everyone on the internet has this mentality where music is just treated as free. the rationale being, HEY, green day doesn’t even make 10 percent profit on their album, so its the big corporation that’s taking all the damages! We’re not green day, Music piracy hurts us. Green day has Concert sales, Merchandising, Television appearances, and all kinds of alternative revenue sources to fall back on when people pirate their music. We don’t. In fact, This is the only source of income we can legally claim with machinima, since we can’t own the rights to any of the visuals. If you want the music, pay for it, if you don’t want to pay for it, I’m sorry, you’ll just have to go without, but please don’t just try and pirate it or share it, that’s a really douchebaggy thing to do. We work so hard to do this stuff, this is our blood sweat and tears people, Please, even if you don’t like what we do, or how we do it,at least respect the fact that we’ve been working a long time on this enough to not just steal it.

Half of a sale is convenience, if you spread your music to popular services, such as iTunes/Amazon, you’re sure to see an increase in number of purchases of your music/albums. Selling them only through this one website will probably deter a lot of potential buyers.

You know that any band who signs up or renegotiates their contract to a major label actually gets their merchandise/touring profits raped and then picked over by the “big corporations”, so that arguement doesn’t work quite as well anymore, because they are getting just as screwed as you, being fledgeling artists.
Anyway, if you hope to make a profit off of your art on the internet then your best option would be to sell hard copies of whatever it is, because, regretfully, digital files of your hard work don’t mean much to the average proletariat.
You can’t be masters of the internet and you shouldn’t try to be. If someone is stealing your music then it probably wasn’t worth anything to them in the first place and will sit on their hard drives racking up play counts while they spend their money elsewhere.
The people who are willing to pay for it are your genuine fans, especially when they can hear it for free on the videos themselves. Which is the entire point of the music in the first place, to enhance the video.
One can understand your frustrations at the thieves, but lashing out at it will only embolden the antagonists, as you no doubt learned from the “Ballad of Black Mesa” comparisons with that crappy stick figure thing.
