Figured by the title this blog post is about money.. well kinda, more in the sense of how I spend it. Picture is of Brian, it’s there to please him.
So some of you seen that I have my new desk in an earlier blog post, the new desk was definitely needed but the main thing that prompted me to buy it was the fact I was gonna drop a load of cash for a 1080p HDTV to use as my monitor and putting it on a 90cm wide by 35cm depth didn’t seem to feasible.
So we’re on to the HDTV now, I’ve been through months and months of saying “Oh I’ll just get that when I get paid” and every week getting closer to my payday, the prices of each TV I set my eyes on changed. I started off on a LG, then went into Sony’s Bravia selection and then in Samsung’s many 40″ tv’s. I even bought a DVI-D to HDMI cable so I’m ready to put my PC through the TV, also got an HDMI to HDMI for something in the future (probably a 360). I got my pay a few days ago, I paid off my credit card, paid my mother for feeding me like a baby and then got down to the dirty business of paying for my 40″ 1080p Samsung LE40M87BD which will look something along the lines of this but less dirty. Now I await Tuesday (they tell me) for my TV to arrive and for me to cream my pants in anticipation. Which brought me to my next thought, should I buy an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 on Monday before the TV comes?
My Brother has an Xbox 360 already and I had one a while back before I sold it, so I know how good they are. But the main reason I was thinking of a PS3 is that 1, my brother has a 360 already and 2, it’s the best Blu Ray player out there. I know majority of people are like “ohh blu ray and hd dvd, fuck that shit, I’ll stick with dvds murr murr murr”, yeah I get it, I have DVDs too but I wanted to dabble into some HD content and see for myself what they can do. The reason I swayed to Blu-Ray instead of the HD DVD despite the cheaper player for the 360, is that the figures are showing that Blu-Ray are skipping ahead of HD DVD’s. Not only that, Warner Bros and New Line have dropped off HD DVD and are now exclusive Blu-Ray providers, which isn’t a helpful step for HD DVD and I don’t want to be stranded with a HD DVD player that I couldn’t sell on even if I had a picture of my penis attached to the side of it (Fact: The public are more susceptible to purchase after seeing my penis).
I could talk for England, but not really.
Monday: Xbox 360 + PES 2008 (not a big football fan but there’s something about injuring the other team and watching them limp about that appeals to me)
Tuesday: TV time
Next Month: Playstation 3

Michael how many times do I have to tell you? Thumbnail!!!
Fixed
Why don’t you just buy both? If you can afford a HD TV I’m sure you can afford both.
Michael now you’re misdirecting the readers, they think they’re going to read about cat eaters when really its about what to buy, dollar bill thumbnail would be more appropriate, or a car with $ signs as the rims, or Donald Trump.
I’d go for a 360 personally. Blu-ray might be in the lead right now but I think it’ll eventually sway to HD-DVD, mostly because blu-ray players are so much more expensive that people will be buying hd-dvd players.
Go for a 360, much better games out/coming out for it.
